Why did you decide to make an investment on Republic?
I decided to make an investment in Republic because of two things: ability to invest in startups without being an accredited investor (I’m broke), and their association with Angellist.
What did you decide to fundraise on Republic?
I chose 8 investments.
CoverUs. Interesting solution for healthcare if adopted.
NeoPenda. An actual medical device which is solving real problems (v. Theranos).
Mailtag. This has since been acquired and converted to EBrands.
Balloonr. Interesting solution for the quiet team members.
Lavabit. The team successfully made an encrypted email solution before, and will most likely succeed again.
PhunCoin. One of many marketplaces opening up where you get rewarded for giving up data.
InnaMed.

What has your experience working with the Republic staff been like?
Easy. I once forgot my password and they helped me out super promptly. That’s low level but important. On the high level I’ve made some connections through the platform.
What has your experience using Republic been like?
Great learning experience. You don’t have to lose it all to learn about the complicated word of startups (though it would be nice to be an accredited investor 😉).
