a pooch
a pup
a tiny little dog
a ham
a cheese
always aiming to please
you could fit him in your backpack
or sit him on your lap
just avoid his mouthy maw
and give his haunch a slap
don’t feed him anything rich
you’ll regret scratching that itch
but otherwise pet him all you want
and tell him he’s a ‘good dog’
A philosopher dog
always deep in thought
with his worried eyes
he must be thinking about
a lot
