Hi, and welcome to issue 14 of NFT Matrix, where I review NFT Artists’ work. There is no presumption or judgement here, only exposure. The artist I am reviewing is musician/audio artist Matteo Manzini from London, UK. Rich and futuristic is how I would characterize their work. I look at a couple of the artist’s pieces from their various platforms/social media and provide my review. Hope you enjoy, I’m always open to feedback.

Piece: “Disordered EP”

This EP shows off Matteo and his collaborators’ skill at making head-bopping beats which incorporate electronics and percussion. The tracks on this EP could be paired with a film like Tron or a Quintin Tarantino movie. My favorite track is “Getting Solarized” since it reminds me of a beat I’d play as a bass drummer. The snippets of audio are also engaging.

This piece contains a collection of sounds created by Matteo, running in the background of street footage. The sounds are somewhat relaxing and electronic. They create a chill mood, but the video is a disturbing reminder that whenever you’re in a major city, you are certainly on CCTV. The audio sounds Matteo creates are rich and engaging, which is why a piece like this can sustain attention over a minute and change.

Piece: “Templo de los Perros”

This is a collaboration piece for which Matteo provided the audio. The visuals are stunning, trippy, and dark. Something sinister is going on in this piece, and the music adds to this atmosphere as well. It’s as if you’re seeing something you’re not supposed to see, or a dimension you’re not to access.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this brief introduction to Matteo! Find their links here.

See you next week!
